Rancho de Esperanza is a small,
privately owned Paso Fino Ranch in Scottsdale, Arizona. Having been in the breed for over 20 years, I bought the ranch and began with a few good mares and my beautiful chestnut stallion and National Bella Forma Champion, Capataz de Dulce, by my side. With the purchase and selling of many pleasure Pasos, I proudly added an amazing Performance mare to my collection. A Capuchino mare named Mercedes de La Clara helped lead me to many National and local champion titles.
When Capataz slipped and fell on wet concrete at a show and dislocated his hip, he underwent a successful surgery to repair it. Two days before he was to be brought home I was devastated to learn that he had died from a blood clot. It has been years but I still cry. He was my "horse soul mate."
To help fill the hole in my heart I purchased an amazing black Fino Stallion out of World Champions Patrimonio del Ocho and Pretenciosa de La Alhambra. Pretencioso de La Virginia has International Champion Fino Titles as well as a Reserve World Champion Fino Stallion Title. Then to add to my stallions I purchased a beautiful black 2 year old colt. That colt, Chaquiro de Besilu, went on to win National Champion Pleasure 4 year old colt and later as a 6 year old, World Champion Pleasure Stallion.
My most recent purchase is an amazing 3 year old Fino Filly who placed 3rd at the 2009 Grand Nationals in Perry, Georgia and recently won her division and received Reserve Champion Fino Fillies and Mares at the Gold Cup Show in California. She also took me to the Championship in the AO division of the same show. She is Insomnia de La Libertad out of the fabulous Fino Stallion, Imponente, owned by Howard Brody of La Libertad Paso Finos in Florida. I am excited to be showing her as a four year old under the guidance and training of Steven Lopez this show season!
For those who are not familiar with the Paso Fino blood lines please trust that all of the fine horses at Rancho de Esperanza come from some of the most outstanding foundation stallions in our breed and I am trying to continue their great lineage with more outstanding stallions, mares and foals.
I have always enjoyed sharing my love and passion for the Paso Fino horses with newcomers to the breed. Whether you want a pleasure trail horse, or a top show horse, or just want to learn more about the breed, if you are in the Scottsdale area please give me a call or email me and if I can I will be more than happy to have you visit my ranch.
